Nineteen-Eighty Four - George Orwell
As the focus on my final year dissertation centered around the many different editions of George Orwell’s most famous novel, I felt it was only fitting to try my hand at designing my own version.
With this cover, inspired by Jon Gray’s cover for Penguin’s 60th Anniversary, I tried to obscure the title as much as possible to a point where I felt it was hardly legible. In designing it this way, playing around with legibility, I wanted to the viewer to rely solely on the combination of the imagery of survaillance with Orwell’s name.
